Edit after a few more weeks of use: This sensory pod has been amazing for my autistic child's meltdowns. It has been very difficult to find a safe spot to put my child when they're in the middle of a self-injurious meltdown and so I used this now several times as my child,s safe space and area to calm from the meltdown. It has reduced my child's self injuring and helped with the calming down process so much! I wish I got this pod so long ago if I had known how much it helps us. Original review: I have a kid on the spectrum whose OT says they benefit from deep pressure input. When I saw this sensory pod, I was hop in my kid would like it. Turns out all three of my kids like it! Set up was very easy, the pump that was included worked very well. Once it was inflated, my kids jumped right in and have been having a great time. It's very large! Next to it is our nugget cough and the sensory pod is about the same length of the nugget couch. Not complaining, but it did surprise me just a little bit lol. It works out though because all of my small kids can fit together.
I don't have any kids with autism, but I have a child that loves to nest. By that I mean she builds a nest of toys, blankets, and pillows to wedge herself in at night. I thought this might be comfortable to her to snuggle up and hang out in. I feel like this is made out of really high quality material. The material is very thick. I feel like it was thoughtful that they made it fuzzy so that you don't stick to it and get stuck. It also makes it extra cozy and soft. The handles are a nice touch for being able to get in and out. It was very easy to blow up. I love it when they have the wide openings so that you can use an air pump easily. I actually didn't use the air pump that it came with since I already had one, but I think it's really cool that it does come with one. When you sit in it it feels like you're getting a giant hug. Also you can control how tight the hug is by controlling how much air you put in it. It's a really cool design. I think she will use it for hanging out in the living room to watch movies and things like that.
This is amazing. So got this because my 5 year old autistic kiddo often enjoyed sitting in large boxes/small spaces and he absolutely loves this. It's very comfortable and you can adjust how much air if they like it a little softer or firmer. It has a very soft texture, like microfiber, so it's not cold to the touch. It seems like it will be pretty durable, which it will need to be with the boys in this house lol. It's not loud when he's inside of it and he can easily move it from room to room with the handles on it! Overall, this is a great purchase for any neurodivergent kiddo that enjoys burrowing and small spaces because it satisfies those needs but in a safe way!!
